K-12 Family Education Loan

Internet Application Instructions

Your loan application will take about 10 minutes to process online.  Follow the steps outline below to begin.

1. Click on the Apply Online link to the left.
    
2. Complete the loan application and submit it for credit processing.
    
3. Wait 30 seconds, you will receive a web response.
    
4. If the loan is approved, SLM will send the following documents to the borrower for signature:
   • Disclosure Statement
   • Promissory Note
   • Pre-filled Loan Application
      
5. After signing the loan documents (including the electronic application), the following should be sent to SLM:
   • All Loan Documents
   • Borrower's Recent Paystub (tax returns is self-employed)
   • Borrower's Signed ID
   • Enrollment Agreement or Tuition Bill
      
6. SLM will send the funds on the provided disbursement date.
